Sharepoint: Grant access to an item or a folder Connector error

(0) ShareShare

Hi,

Im trying to use the "Grant access to an item or a folder" connector to provide edit access to a list on a Sharepoint site that I have setup.

At run, I get an error stating "The specified item was not found. Check that it has not been deleted, and that you provided the correct site and list/library"

I have confirmed that the list and site have been entered correctly (even chosen using the drop-down).

Can someone help?

PS: I can manually allocate access to the list through the Sharepoint site.

    @Naz

    You can't grant access to a list using the Grant access to an item or a folder action - it specifically is used to grant access to a specific item or folder.

    Can you post a screen shot of your Flow?

    @ScottShearer ,

    I saw it being done on YouTube : Power Automate SharePoint Permissions and Security - Grant, Remove, and inherit with Flow - YouTube so I think it can be done.

    Tried a really simple flow (fails at both stages)

    All items have been filled in using drop downs (except Id, in which I give a random integer):

    As a side note, I am able to read/write to the list.

    Error details below:

    OK. So after a lot of trying (and I couldn't find this anywhere online), I figured it out.

    The 'Id' has to reference an existing (i.e. non-deleted) entry (i.e. record) in the list. In my case, I was simulating a game and the rows came and went quickly and hence the ID I had entered did not exist (was deleted).

    This is a bug that needs to be looked at (since I expect to give users permissions to the entire list, not just one line item).

    Now to the next issue, the action grants the user permissions to the entire site (not just the "List of Library name" as mentioned), which looks like another bug with the action.
