Hello Everyone,

I tried to automate within the SAP Transaction SE16N. Most buttons worked fine however this one does not:
It is the button where if you press it you can write multiple cells of data into it.
The button ID is the following

When i start the flow it runs through perfectly but does not press the button. However PA thinks it did press it because the Flow runs through completely.

I look forward to any tipps you might have. Thanks!

    Hello,

I would test that element to see if PAD actually finds the correct button. So open your element and press Test (and have the button be visible on your screen):

Then since it most likely finds an element see if it finds the correct element.

My guess is that your button element is referencing a correct button but on an incorrect row. Your button element seems to be captured on a 4th row on a table:

So maybe the 4th row does not have any data on it and is inactive but PAD still finds the button (even though the button is disabled) and there for does not go to error. make sure that you have edited the captured UI element to be dynamic

    Hello,

The element itself is an SAP element (From the SAP Actions), not a regular UI one, so it is not safed in the Flow repository and i can not test it. When i try to safe the button with the normal Click UI Element Action, the entire Pane gets red and not the individual button , so i can not use this either.

Ah okay. I don't have access to SAP right now and cant test how to modify those actions/their elements.

Can you in any way modify the element ID in your "Click SAP UI element" -action? So to change the row from number 4 to row 1 for example (maybe try 0 since the first row might be 0 and row 1 etc)?

Or the 18 to 0 (can't remember which is the row and column 😅)

If not then change the "Click SAP UI element" -action to "Click UI element in window" and capture the element like that and modify it to be dynamic depending on which row you want to press the button on.
edit: I just noticed that you said that you cant use that since PAD only recognizes the parent pane element. That might be due to scripting not being abled and its blocking your access to underlying elements. Make sure you have scripting enabled scripting:

I have only ever automated SAP in PAD using VBScript actions. So I record SAP actions in the SAPs Script Recording and Playback and then use that script in Power Automate Desktop (Run VBScript -action).

I now exclusively automate SAP with VBS. It is significantly easier, more stable and works well with panes. Didnt know it existed before. Thanks for the tipp!
