Power Automate - Question on Two step authentication

Hi Community!

Hope all is well!  Trying to use Power Automate to automate business process within.  With that said, I had a few questions:

( ) Can it handle 2 step password authentication – meaning for the PAD-bot is it able to stop and allow the end user to enter a generated code sent via email?

Or since the each successful logon would have a newly generated web app verification code sent to the user id’s email address, so the user would have to retrieve that, then enter it in – is that possible to automate in PA?

Any feedback are greatly appreciated! Mahalo! @Anonymous

    Hi there,

Yes - PAD can technically do anything a user can do (with limits of course).

Your first question is: can the bot stop and allow for user input? Yes:

And question two, can the bot log in, get a code from an email, and enter it in for MFA?

Yes. But, the process needs to be the same every time (or you need to build in error handling / conditions for one or two other scenarios.)

To do that is a longer explanation - basically the bot would open a browser, go to the site, be prompted to enter the password, enter the password, get the MFA code request, open another tab, refresh until it sees an unread email with the right subject, open it, extract the text that fits the code into a variable, then plop it into the other tab it has open.

All that being said, there is something about bots using MFA that deeply upsets me... can't explain it...
