No dynamic content when setting up schedule

Hello All,

I am trying to set up a daily schedule to refresh a list.

I am using the today function in a calculated column and need to refresh daily.

I tried to create a scheduled flow to update the list but i can't get dynamic content and it lists a number of fields as required, ID being the first.

I have attached a screen shot

Thanksno dynamic content.PNG

    HI @egornua1

Assuming you are looking to update multiple items on a daily basis I would suggest you use the action get items prior to update items.  You will then have a list of values which will contain the dynamic field for Item ID.  When you attempt to drop this dynamic field into the update item action it will automatically create an apply to each for you.

You might want to consider a filter on the get items if your list is large or otherwise it will warn you but not an issue if you know your list size is relatively small.

    thanks @DamoBird365

Is the action you suggested a sharepoint action as per screen shot.

I still don't have option to select dynamic content.

I do have other automated flows running but this is first scheduled.

    Thank you

    Hi @egornua1

You will need to setup the Get Items action first and then you will be able to use the dynamic content from it in the update item action.  The reason you see no dynamic content in get items is because you have the reoccurence trigger.  Had it been when an item is created etc, there would have been dynamic content for you to call upon.  Running the get items though, will get you a list of items and then you are ready to start building the rest of your flow.

The filters are based on OData filters and you have to supply the column name based on your list/docLib column names, it doesn't know them as this point.  So if you had a list with an item called dayofweek and you wanted it to equal the string friday, you would literally type:

    dayofweek eq 'friday'

Although there are exceptions and normally I would just work through any errors as they appear.

    Hope that makes sense.

@DamoBird365  - Thanks. see below screen shot.

    It seems to be working.

In this situation, i just need this flow to refresh the list items so the calculated column updates as its using ([today]) function.

I have about 5 mandatory fields in sharepoint and because of that i always seem to have to update them even though there is no need in this situation.

I do get a prompt to add a filter in the get items to make it more efficient.

Can you advise on this - Thanks

The filter is based on a column name, which you have to be specific about but it can only compare strings.

    So an example might be:

    ColumnName eq 'string'

string can be a dynamic value

If the filter cannot do what you are looking for, you can investigate filter and array action which will allow you to take the value from the get items.
