Teams notification instead of email

Hi all

I'm putting together an approvals flow to try and reduce emails going back and forth - hoping to just have a push notification in Teams instead of an email. I thought it could be done in Teams notification settings, it does seem to have that option.

It doesn't seem to work though, it looks like the email is being sent from Power Automate as well as the Teams notification. Is there a setting in Power Automate that will prevent the extra email being sent? Or would it be better to turn off notifications in the "Start and Wait for an Approval" step, and then do another step to send a notification immediately after? (Oh, no that would be create an approval, then send the notification, and then wait for an approval as a separate step, right?)

Thanks for your help.

Hey @MelBoit's not possible to have an approval without sending the email as that is the way the approver is informed that they have an approval waiting.

Also, Teams notifications are client specific. You can't set the way another users gets notified. They can choose what kind of notifications they see and when. You don't have any control over that.

    cheers

Thank you for answering! If that is the case, then I will try to build the notification separately within the flow. If the email's still come through, I will just tell them to set up a rule in Outlook to dump the emails automatically. 😉
