Hello all,

I’m new to Power Automate Desktop, and my task is to download files from a website using PAD. On the website, when I manually click the Utilities link, it opens a new window where I can download files. However, when the bot clicks the Utilities link, it opens the new window but remains on the original window with the Utilities link. This results in an error stating, "Failed to get UI element." I also tried using the "Go to Webpage" action to navigate to the new window, but it fails and gives the error from the original tab. please guide me. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi @T24k,

After the new tab or window opens just use focus window to activate that new tab or window .Then perform your click actions. It will solve your issue.

Thank you for your response! Using the "Focus window" action, I can successfully focus on the newly opened tab. To download files from the focused window, I first need to click on "Report files" and then "See available files" on the website. However, when I use the "Click link on webpage" or "Press button on webpage" actions, the flow automatically switches back to the previous tab (the "Browser" tab) and throws an error. On the other hand, the "Press button in windows" action works fine. Since the files are displayed as hyperlinks, I’m unsure how to proceed with downloading them. Additionally, I need to download only those files that contain the keyword "sample" in their filename. Could you please guide me?

Hi @T24k,

Trying Like for the process upto opening new tab keep as instance name as First_Browser and after opening new tab use Launch browser(Attach to the runnning browser) and rename it to Second browser and from there change in all the action instance as Second_Browser.
