Set Parent.Default on a combo Box in form

I have a combo box in a form with a list of locations, and I want to set is so that when the user navigates to that screen from selecting an item in the gallery, the combo box defaults to parent.default. I'm having no joy with this and all the solutions I've read online don't seem to help

    Consider this:

    ({Value:Gallery3.Selected.Column}) on the DefaultSelectedItems of the combobox
