Use Microsoft Form inputs to create calendar invite

Hello Power Users,

I posted here in the past and got excellent help, hoping the community can help with this new challenge I am facing.

I have created a Microsoft Form that I would like to use to create a calendar invite. The idea is that I add questions to the form like start time, end time, timezone, or whatever is best and power automate uses that input to create a calendar invite.

I do not even know how to approach doing this given the limitations of microsoft forms short of having options for each possible permutation of time and then figuring out someway to convert that data. I also need to account for timezones as this form could be filled out anywhere in the world.

Please let me know what additional information I can share or if I can be more clear.

    Hi @Anonymous ,

    This should work:

Start with the questionnaire in Forms. For start time and end time I recommend just using the example format for "Create Event" which is (yyyy-mm-ddTHH:MM), just to get the flow up and running, then you can look into optimizing the format, if you would like another.

    1. Event Name

    2. Start time, just make an identical for End time. Note, the date function in forms dosen't work with date+time, so you have to use freetext, as far as I know.

    3. Time Zone. Here copy the UTC Time Zone list from here for example: https://jp.cybozu.help/general/en/admin/list_systemadmin/list_localization/timezone.html

Copy that list into an excel and mark the colum with time Zones, like this:

Then paste this into your multiple choice question, which will import them as a different option automatically since each value is a row:

    Lastly, we have to flow:

Please let me know how it goes, and ask away if you have any further questions 😄

You are amazing, thank you! This is accomplishing exactly what I need it to!

Is there a way for me to force responders to adhere to that format for date/time or at least have a check in place to throw a flag if they input it incorrectly? That is my biggest concern sending this to clients to fill out and getting confused or screwing up the formatting

Would there be a way to break it into separate questions such as below and concatenate the answers into a usable dynamic content selection?
Start Date (using MS forms' date question):
Start Time (drop down for selecting a time in military time ie: 24 selections)

    End date (same as above)

    End time (same as above)

Unfortuneatly, it's not possible to put limits like that on Microsoft forms, you could limit it to numbers, but that won't do much here. Your last comment is a good move in order to work around this limitation, and would ensure the data quality. So I think you should go with that.

    It works well:

Put in a 'date picker' for the date and a choice for time, like you said 😊

Then in the flow just add two composes and put a space between the date and the time (You could also put this directly into create event):

Happy to help you out! Please Accept my post as a solution if you are satisfied with the result. This will in turn help other find solutions to similar questions.
