Unattended RPA on Hosted VM Can't Assume Control Of Incognito Edge Browser

Hi All,

I'm new to PAD but familiar with UiPath and Python automation. In this particular desktop flow, I need to open and assume control of an Incognito Browser tab in Ms Edge but it appears as though the default VM doesn't have the browser extension installed. Does anyone know how I can rectify this? I've been scouring the internet for others who may have experienced the same issue but alas no luck as of yet.

PS. this does work on my development laptop as the browser extension is present.

Thanks,

Mohammed.

I have the same question (0)

You need to navigate to the extension settings and enable the toggle to allow it in "InPrivate" for Edge (or "Incognito" for Chrome). This is not enabled by default, and that's why it won't work, unless you tick this checkbox:

    Hi @Agnius,

The Unattended RPA is running on an MS Hosted Bot, Is there a way to access Hosted VMs that I'm missing?

    Thank you for your reply,

    Mohammed.

You should be able to access it via the cloud portal on the account that has access to it. See here for more reference: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-automate/desktop-flows/hosted-machines#access-a-hosted-machine

Looks like my Hosted Machines don't have that option.

    Hi @MohammedAkhtar

I believe you are not the owner / creator of that hosted machine?

Only the creator of the Hosted machine has the sign-in access

    Hi All,

I just wanted to update. It appears as though the machine was disconnected hence not being able to access it. Also when accessing it it remained in the setting up account screen for an hour and never truly let me in.

    I will be retrying today.

    Thanks,

    Mohammed.

If that is the case, you might want to report it as a bug to MS support and get them to help you out with this.

    Hi All,

I feel as though PAD doesn't have the ability to properly manage Incognito Browser automation like I've experienced with UiPath and therefore changed my flow and used the browser as normal.

    Thanks,

    Mohammed.
