Hi Everyone,

I have two column need to trigger for my workflow:

1. Column "Assigned to" : If this column not "Null" --> send email to person in " Assigned to" --> this step is work

2. Column " Status" has three values " Pending" "On process" "Closed". when i done the task, i will change status of this column to "Closed" then Email will send notification to " Created by" --> but this step don't work.

Would you please help ? and how to prevent step 1 run again when we modify column " Status"

    Hi Jerry2023,

Use the "Get changes for an items or a file (properties only)" action and for each field, check if its value changed and what value it took in the same condition :

Further more, I can see an Update Item action in your flow, I don't know if you're updating the item you're checking changes from, but if it is the case, you risk to enter infinite loop. However, in your flow, update is done only when item is created, flow will only be triggered once more. But if you need to update item every time Refer to this topic I wrote to avoid loop and detect when update comes from flow : Solved: No loop SharePoint update item trigger - Power Platform Community (microsoft.com)

    Hi @Jerry2023

You have filled the expression , which should be filled from expression tab and click ok so that it can enter as expression in the since field

    Thanks @SamLed ,

As i followed your steps, when i changed the value at column Status to " Closed", the step 2 still doesn't work, it repeat step 1 again , are there any my mistakes?

You've got a send mail on upper left corner, seems you designed step 1 and 2 inside the false branch of a previous condition, I usually set "Get changes" action just after trigger. I need to see whole flow to understand what can eventually interfere with those conditions. Post also last flow history to see run path. Or create a new flow with just trigger, get changes action and both last conditions.

    Hi @SamLed ,

    My flow like this:

    1. When user submit request, one notification email will send to user

    2. When i assign this request to me my team member ( fill email address at " Assigned to", one email notification will send to person is assigned( in charge).

    3. When the request is resolved, person in charge will change status at column  Status to "Closed" , one email notification will send to user then complete the Flow--> this step doesn't work, it repeat step 2 when i change status of column Status.

    Hi Jerry2023,

First of all, check if you didn't use 'Status' dynamic content instead of 'Status value' to compare with the string 'Closed'.

Else, you need to check why last condition never match, and which of both logical expressions fails. Add a compose before condition and enter your following content :

    SamLed_0-1690909958878.png

First is 'Has Column Changed: Status' dynamic content

    Second is equals(triggerOutputs()?['body/Status/Value'], 'Closed')

    Thanks @SamLed ,

Step1: send email to Assign to, when Assigner done the task, they will change Status to " Closed"

Step2: when Status change to "Closed"--> send email to Created by

But there is repeat in step 1 when run step 2( when status change to "Closed", the email send to "Assigned to" again) how can i set run only one time for step 1?
