Hello.
My set up is as follows :
I have a file share server a gateway server and Power Automate (Flow)
I have a service account to run the power automate flow (e.g. svc-msflow)
I have a service account to run the gateway client (e.g svc-gateway)
I have my own admin account to install the gateway. (admin.myname)
What account needs what permissions and where? - i cant seem to find any documentation on this.
1. If the Flow account (svc-msflow) runs the flow, does this account need access to the file share server to retrieve files from the file
server?, or does it need access to the gateway server?
2. Does the gateway account need access to the file share server to retrieve files and to the gateway server?
Thanks in advance.
The “flow” account needs permission to use the gateway because I think you create the connection with this user. The connection you create needs access to the file share (this can be a different user).
So during setting up the connection the user creating the connection needs access to use the gateway and during this setup you can use any other users credentials that has permission to the file share. You also have to use a unc path.
