Help: Reformatting a date to send as a subject in an email

I'm new to power automate, and I'm trying to set up a flow that will automatically send an email each day to a set of addresses that are listed within a spreadsheet. The spreadsheet also includes dates that I need in the subject of the email.

At the moment the email section of my flow looks like this:

Where 'jmc_stocktaked...' is the date, however when the email sends, it comes through with the date formatted as "45142"

How can i change this to come through formatted as dd/mm/yyyy

    Hi @BGMarstons

    Internally, Dates in excel sheets are stored as numbers. To get the dates in ISO format, pls try setting the "DateTime Format" parameter in "List rows in a table" as "ISO 8601":

    Hi @ManishSolanki

    That's helped at least get me into a date format, however it's now coming through as "2023-08-04T00:00:00.000Z" where I just want "04/08/2023", how would I get to this?

    Hi @BGMarstons

    To format the date, you can make use of formatDatetime() function. To achieve this, we need to write an expression in the expression box as shown below:

    Expression used for formatting date:

    formatDateTime(item()?['jmc_stocktaked'],'dd/MM/yyyy')

    Note: pls replace 'jmc_stocktaked' with the actual column name as I could not figure it out from the screenshot.

    If this helps & solves your problem, please remember to give a 👍 and accept my solution as it will help others in the future.

    Thanks
