Create planner task with multiple tags when one of the MS Form questions allows multiple answers

Hi,

I've created a MS Form that links to a Planner board. 2 of the MS form questions allow only one answer - there are tags in the planner board to tag accordingly.

However, one ofthe MS form questions is multiple choice and allows the end user to select 'multiple' answers. I would also like the Planner task to be automatically tagged according to the answer(s) that are selected by the end user.

At present I've not been able to find a way to get PowerAutomate to achieve the 2 different 'types' of answer tagging 'together'. It will allow the tagging for the first 2 Forms questions (where you can only select 'one' answer) however, it will not tag the 'multiple answers' from the 3rd MS form question (where a person has a choice of selecting more than one answer).

Has anyone had experience with setting up a flow to accommodate the above-mentioned situation?

    Hi @hm7 ,

I made a template for your reference

    Here is form

I use three of these Tags as tests

Please try to use the if formula to judge whether the content of the return value contains the corresponding option to return true or false

    if(contains(outputs('Get_response_details')?['body/r1258a194a4864216b44c5530b8ed732d'],'Pink'),true,false)

That’s AMAZING Cheng!! Thanks ever so much – it’s now tagging both single-answer and multi-answer questions from the MS Form into the Planner task.

One last thing – we have 2 types of submissions – ‘video’ and ‘written’.

I’ve previously been able to put a ‘switch’ in so that if ‘video’ is chosen it will create the planner ticket in the ‘video’ bucket however, I’ve done this in Power Automate by:

    • Putting in a ‘switch’ (where you select the ‘type of submission’)
    • Equals to video submission
      • Create a task
      • Update task details

        OR
    • Equals to written submission
      • Create a task
      • Update task details

Can you please advise how I can get the 2 different types of planner task to go into their ‘respective’ bucket according to how the person answers (bucket for 'video' and a separate bucket for 'written'?

    Many thanks,

    Heidi
