Power Automate - Multiplication using cost in SharePoint List x total hours on Microsoft Forms

Hi

I have a form that people submit job requests, I want to calculate the cost of a job using a per hour figure on Sharepoint list and multiply using total hours on Microsoft form. I then want to include the sum on an approval notification so that budget holders are aware of the total cost of the request.

What is the best way to do this?

Thank you very much

    Hey,

You can initialize a variable and, on that variable, you can calculate the sum and you can use anywhere in the flow as a dynamic content.

    Solution:

    Initialize a variable

On the value field you can calculate the Sum.

    Hi,

First, you need a way to categorize the student submitting the form to compare against the SharePoint list and extract the hourly cost for that student. For example, “Student Helper (Grade 2)” or “Student Invigilator (Grade 3).” I suggest adding a predefined unique selection in the form for the title that the student selects.

Use SharePoint Get Items action to retrieve all items, then use a for loop to get the column information you need based on the student category. After that, you can extract the cost per hour for that specific student, multiply it by the number of hours, save it in a variable, and then add it to the approval request.

    Hope this helps,
    Anthony.
