User input (manually entered)

How do you capture user input via approval flow? I was reading this article but I'd like to get user input on the same email rather than sending a separate email.  And, the input must also be saved back to SharePoint list item.

Example:  When item is created or modified, an email is sent to the reviewer to approve it for the next reviewer.  But the caveat is the current reviewer needs to input the 'date' the document is reviewed. Client said the 'date reviewed' is not always the same as the 'date sent to next reviewer.'

SharePoint list has the following fields:

  • Signature
  • Review Date
  • Date Sent (to next reviewer)

    Unfortunately what you want to do is not possible.  If the approver puts the date in the comments, it could potentially be parsed out but that would not be reliable.

    Yes, the reviewer can fill out the review date on SharePoint without needing a flow. But the point is for the reviewer to provide this information via Approval workflow.

    @Tamras

    I'm not sure what you are asking - you have a column for the date reviewed and also one for the date sent to the next reviewer.  The reviewer fills out these columns - correct?
