Desktop flow with power BI desktop

Hello Friends,

I have a Power Automate Desktop flow that opens a PowerBI desktop report, refreshes it, and publishes it to our PowerBI service. This past week, the flow has failed to register a mouse click and that is causing a failure. I have narrowed down the step to a Move mouse to image step where I click the Publish button in the PowerBI desktop. If I execute this step by itself - it works fine. It is only when I execute the whole flow that it does not seem to register the click. As I watch the flow execute, I see the mouse move to the button and I see the button hover text appear. I even see what looks like a click action but noting happens in the PowerBI Desktop application (like it should).

I have several of these flows and they are all failing at the same place - the Publish button. Again, if I execute each step in the flow individually - it all works fine. Any ideas?

Have you tried the following?
In Power Automate Desktop, set a breakpoint where the flow breaks
Run the flow.
In the UI-element section, double-click the UI-element with the publish button
Press the "Repair"-button
Select the UI-element with "Publish"
Confirm the new selector-text
Press the Test-button and hopefully it'll work again. (not sure if you need to do this step)
If that doesn't work, you can probably fall back to the "send-keys" action and manually press the short-cut-keys to open the publish-part

Hello,

I tried your suggestion, but do not have an option to repair in either the context menu for that action (right click on line), or in any of the menu dropdown options. I am running version 2.33.89.23145. I am unable to see repair prior to executing the step or after executing the step. In fact the flow works fine when I execute it step-by-step. It is only when it is run in full does the button not get clicked. The step prior is a Power BI refresh that takes about 20 minutes to complete before the next action is done.

Sorry, I should have added a screenshot (i'm using version 2.32.00336.23122 in this image)

With the new information you provided, maybe you should wrap the button press in a "on-error block" that looks for this UI-element and retries once a minute (or whatever interval that suits you) for a maximum of a few tries (so it doesn't get stuck indefinently)

I think its possible to look for the "updating" screen and when its not there anymore, you can go ahead and try pressing the publish button
