Hello!

Is there a way to overcome the file size limit of files stored in SharePoint so that Generative AI can process files larger than 3MB? Additionally, is there a way to modify the number of links provided by Copilot when it returns an answer? Currently, it is generating multiple links to the same document.

Struggling with the same 3mb issue... Hopefully there is a workaround available or a update coming from MS.

The 3MB cannot be worked around, but you can take larger documents and split them into smaller files.

Each office file type offers options for doing this such as MS Word allows you to insert a field that represents a file instead of the file itself, and it does some file compression for you (see here: Reduce the file size of your Word documents - Microsoft Support). I find that the biggest culprit to bloated files is large media, so if you we optimize any media for the Web that may help.

Leverage PDF compression whenever possible as well for example with Adobe Pro you may force a file size reduction:

Adobe Acrobat Pro:

Open your PDF in Adobe Acrobat Pro.

Go to the Optimize PDF tool (usually found in the Tools center or right-hand pane).

Select Reduce File Size.

It was announced in one of the sessions in Build 2024 that the file size limit will be increased by around 10 times by june 2024.
Any idea when that's gonna be a reality ?

Thank you for your patience on this increase to file size. I don't have an estimated date for release, nor do I have the exact file size increase, but we will announce as soon as we have this released to production. Know that it is on our radar and we are working to give you the best experience possible.

Hey

Seems like the file size limit was increased to 512MB for directly uploaded files to the knowledge sources. Regarding the files within the provided sharepoint space no updates though
