Create Excel Workbook from Sharepoint List

Hi all!

Currently I have a flow that will trigger an action when the status of a Sharepoint List is changed.

What I aim to do is that when the status is changed to "Approved", an Excel Workbook will be created in a Sharepoint Document Library and store sensitive information such as Name, DOB etc. I would also want the Excel Workbook to be named after the dd/MM + Name of the user. So the end result should be a Workbook named "0613YK".

I am just wondering if this is possible as from my research it seems that creating a workbook using power automate is not possible. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Cheers,

YK

    Hi @yk_09,

    I'd create a template Excel file which contains an empty table with your predefined columns. Upon item change event use the Copy file action to create a new file named as per your requirement. once created, populate the table with the data you wanted.

    Hi @yk_09 ,

    You need to create an excel file firstly and then create an excel table in newly created file.

    1.Create excel file.

    concat(formatDateTime(triggerOutputs()?['body/DateColumnName'],'dd/MM'),triggerOutputs()?['body/FirstName'],'.xlsx')

    2.Create table and add a row in it.

    Best regards,

    hi @royg ,

    thats a great idea! I just tried creating a template and then using the "Copy File" function. And it works! However, one small issue is that I can't seem to rename it.

    These seem to be the only option available for file names.

    Do you have any idea how I can rename the Excel to a custom name?

    Instead of using "Copy File", I used "Get File Content" and "Create File" instead. "Create File" allows you to rename the files you created
