sharepoint "get file content using path" does not work, returning 404 even though path shown in test flow is valid

When I try the solution at

https://manojviduranga.wordpress.com/2021/02/21/fixed-outlook-desktop-doesnt-render-sharepoint-stored-images-embedded-in-to-mail-body-through-powerautomate-send-email-action/

it doesn't work for me.

"Get File Content using Path" with the correct path always returns 404.

I have tried a solution on this at

https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/General-Power-Automate/Get-file-content-using-path-file-not-found/m-p/1914325#M111395

but I am not fully understanding it.

My "file path" is a relative URL and a variable. And the file is located in sharepoint.com . Thanks for any help!

    Hi @mclim ,

Did you tried with Onedrive get file content pass the same file and check whether it is working or not , if not working then issue may be file format.

    Regards

    Ahammad Riyaz

For onedrive, it requires me to sign in again despite me having a 365 account but when I sign in using the default again, it says I have not registered.

I tried a different file, and still 404 with sharepoint's version.

When I tried onedrive's version using say https://manojviduranga.files.wordpress.com/2021/02/9.jpg , I get a message "Paths can only contain at most two colons"...somehow I cannot put a Full URL in "File Path". So another problem arises.

Do you have proper access for that file.

Viewing the file in browser incognito mode does return a 404 and the associated. directory is private. However, when I am logged in, I can see the file image. I  presume https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/customize-sharepoint-site-permissions would solve the issue, is that right?

This https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/troubleshoot/administration/error-404-onedrive-sharepoint does not hint it's a permission issue.
