In addition to Power Automate licensing, you also need a Windows, MS Intune and Active Directory licenses to have a hosted machine. See here for reference: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-automate/desktop-flows/hosted-machines#licensing-requirements

@Agnius Thanks for your help. I another question or 2. So in addition to purchasing PA Premium and PA Hosted I also have to purchase Windows, Intune, and Azure Active Directory? (The last 2 I have no idea what they actually do, no idea why they wouldn't use an all-inclusive pricing, it's 2023)

Will these additional licenses require additional setup?
I can buy but I don't have time to read article after article to set all this up and MS provide negative support. If this is going to take a significant amount of time it might be a Google of PA competitors with intuitiveness, ease of use and plug and play setup. Anything you would recommend?

Hosted RPA in general requires some Azure Active Directory knowledge and skills to set up, because you would essentially be registering and setting up a VM. It might take some time if you have never done it. The licensing itself may cost a bit extra. Usually, in an organizational setup, you would already have those, but if you do not use Azure AD in your organization, or if this is more of a personal setup, you may not have it.

I would in general suggest getting an expert help you with this, such as an IT service provider, an MS365 reseller or a similar company who can help you set it up. It would usually likely not cost a lot to have them do it, as they'd be experts and would not take a lot of time.

If you went with an "alternative", you'll find that if you don't have a server of your own, getting a VM set up for you will also take skill and time (or having a solution provider do it for you). As far as I know, other RPA vendors do not even offer hosting a machine on their servers at all. MS is the only one who does it currently. So, you would not get it out-of-the-box with anyone else anyway, and would have to find a hosting provider separately.

@Agnius Thanks! Not concerned with the cost of the additional licenses at they look relatively inexpensive, it's more the opportunity cost of the time spent subsequently setting it up. I don't have a 'traditional' IT type setup as everything I use for app building, automation etc is a cloud based app.
I have used VM and still do but I use AWS which is pretty easy to use. Create instance and they bill you, don't need to do this, that and the other with licenses to get it going it's all just included in the usage price.
Yep, PA is the only MS tool I use but I've got some projects where vendors don't have open APIs etc so was going UX/UI route. I'll probably just end up running it on a local machine here which is what I've done in the past with PA or UIPath.
    Thanks for your help.
