Announcements
We are working on our Citizen Development community and have run into an issue where owners of PowerApps are unable to delete them.
They get this message: Failed deleting solution. Principal user (id:) is missing prvDeleteSolution privilige
You might not have enough role/permissions to delete the app. You need to ask the owner of the app to delete it (Even if you are the co-owner, you cannot delete it).
I hope this Helps!
The App owner is unable to delete the app, as it says in the subject. 😁
Hi @JR-BejeweledOne ,
Could you please check the security roles that the owners have in the environment? Reference: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/environments-administration#manage-security-fo...
The owners need to have a system administrator role to perform operations related to the database.
Once the owners have the role been assigned, please check back if you are able to delete it or not.
Hope this helps.

So even in our default instance? We are getting ready to do citizen development and we surely aren't going to give all our users admin privileges.
Not necessarily the system administrator, but the security role assigned to the user must include the Canvas app Delete Permission within User level, then the user can be able to delete their own canvas app. This is true for all environments.
Reference: Security roles and privileges
Hope this helps
