Delete Request Flow will run current Month Folder Structure alone

Hi

My Power Automate Workflow is currently running successfully. But my current Document Structure was period-based

Thus, this flow will allow deletion of current month folder documents, but not past month files.

Is there a way to get this Period detail, so I can put a condition on every month if this period is equal to the current month and run the flow, otherwise, send the notification to the Created User.

Kindly support and reply to me

@ScottShearer  - I am Looking to focus in on the "P02 FY23", P03 FY23", P12 FY23" part? And, , if it's P02, and this month is February, then run the flow,  the same way if P01 FY23, if its April means flow will run. (Financial Calender Method )

how to split and get period details from location path ( how to use expression ) kindly help me

    Hi @guna_win13 ,

Since your folder names are always going to be the same length, you are in luck... here is what I have done. Please take a look and let me know if you need additional detail.

Please note that where ever I have "txtFilepath", you would use your actual filepath. I have just used a string to mimic your scenario.

I have split this into many Composes so you can see step-by-step -- I am sure many of these could be combined for a bit more elegance 🙂

I am using text actions to find the letters "/FY" together in your path - as we know we will always have that. This is so I can trim down to just the text we want to review.

Then I go through the following composes - note that I have put the formula into each note on the action for you.

After all that,  we just use a condition to say - if Period = Current Period, then, don't send an email.

You could include year as well, ie Period Year = Period Current Year
