Hi All,

Can anyone help me where we can store credentials in Power Automate Desktop.

i'm using a external application. I need to enter my Username and Password for Login.

I didn't find any variable to encrypt my password.

Can anyone tell me where i can store the password like any secure string or do we have any orchestrator to store the Password.

    Hi @PrathapReddy1 ,

Check out this post which propose solution suing "Azure key vault" or creating custom API with Postman: Solved: Storing API Credentials for use in Flow - Power Platform Community (microsoft.com)

I also know that some third party connectors propose encryption actions like Encodian: Solved: Encrypting an API request with base64url and HmacS... - Power Platform Community (microsoft.com)

I can also propose you a workaround, I personally use which just make a password not readable using decodeBase64() on passwords I encoded using an online base64 Encoder/decoder, but is is not encryption:

    Hi @PrathapReddy1,

That's even better, desktop version includes cryptography actions: Cryptography actions reference - Power Automate | Microsoft Learn

Hi @SamLed  i tried this but my input value will be displayed on the scree even for the encryption activity. So if i enter my Password. It will be displayed on the activity. It should not happen right like this.

    Hi @PrathapReddy1,

In cloud one you can secure input/output of an action: Secure Input/Output in Power Automate Run History | D365 Demystified

I don't know desktop version so much, sorry, I tried to see if same feature was available without finding.

If it doesn't provide same feature, consider to launch a cloud flow from desktop one to send or retrieve data with the application you want to connect to. You could protect your password by doing the application call from the cloud version. I know it could become a bit complex design not easy to maintain, but it is just an Idea on how I could have reach this goal without any other solution available. Here what I found to call cloud flow from desktop one: Calling Cloud flows from Power Automate Desktop (serverlessnotes.com)
