Corrupt attachments uploading to a SharePoint list

Hello,

In my flow, I create an item in a second sharepoint list using information and attachments from an item in a first sharepoint list. Here is my flow:

hhuynhfm_1-1715200388347.png

hhuynhfm_2-1715200432442.png

I get these errors when I attempt to open any form of attachments for an item in the second sharepoint list where I am creating the new item. I am able to view the attachments with no problem from the first sharepoint list.

I have seem some posts regarding this same issue but after trying to attach something to an email which is not my case. Could it be an issue with Get attachment content?

@hhuynhfm You are using the wrong dynamic content here. It should be the Attachment Content dynamic content—not Id.

    Hello @creativeopinion ,

Thanks for your response! Unfortunately, I do not get the dynamic content option for "Attachment content" in Add Attachments for the File Content field. What actions should I include before this to be able to select this option? Do I have to use "Has attachments" like you did in the video?

@hhuynhfm The logic of your flow is incorrect. Can you explain why you have two for each loops? The reason you don't have access to the Attachment Content dynamic content is because the Get attachment content action is in a completely different for each loop.

    Hi @creativeopinion,

The "Select An Output From Previous Steps" value for the first for each loop is Body from my Get item action. The output for the second for each loop is Body from Get attachments.

When I was adding both actions, power automate automatically put my actions in a loop - specifically when I chose Id for the file identifier field for Get Attachments, and when I chose DisplayName for the file name in Add Attachment.

I assumed this was because it was getting the content and adding it to the item for each attachment from my first sharepoint list (since the user is able to attach multiple attachments). I am not able to make the output from previous steps the same value for both for each loops.

    Hello @creativeopinion,

I have since put my Get attachment content and Add attachments in the same loop that pulls from Get attachments. I am now able to see the Attachment content dynamic content for Add attachments, but my attachments are still giving me the same errors when I try to open them on the item they are added to.

@hhuynhfm Please share a screenshot of your full flow in the Classic Designer (toggle off the new designer). Click on all actions to expand them and ensure you are in edit mode.

@hhuynhfm It's important to ensure you are using the ID dynamic content from the correct action. It should be from the Get Item action.

    creativeopinion_1-1715455484796.png

Pay attention to the tips listed in each field. The ID field requires the Id dynamic content from the Get Item action.

    creativeopinion_2-1715455585499.png

Again, ensure you are selecting the correct dynamic content.

    creativeopinion_4-1715455716257.png

The File Identifier field is expecting the Id dynamic content from the Get attachments action.

    creativeopinion_5-1715455750169.png

Ensure you insert the appropriate ID dynamic content into the ID field.

    creativeopinion_6-1715456059053.png

You need to ensure you insert the Attachment Content dynamic content into the File Content field (as mentioned previously)

    Hope this helps!
