Set content approval status re triggering SP list flow

Hi All

I have a flow that is triggered on Sharepoint list item creation/change and needs to be approve by few people (depending on one ammount in the SP list item).  The problem is that every time list itm is approved (with Set content approval status) , the flow is triggered again as the list item is changed.

Is it by desighn or its a bug?

Is there any way to set flow not to run if list item updated by flow itself?

Thanks

    Hi @Anonymous ,

You could take a try with solution below:

    1. Add a “Yes/No” type column “UpdateByFlow” in the sharepoint list, the default value is “No”.
    2. When you add or update an item in the list manually, keep the column “UpdateByFlow” to be “No”.
    3. Every time use “Update item” action in flow, set the column “UpdateByFlow” to “Yes”.
    4. Create your flow, and add a Condition under the trigger to check the “UpdateByFlow” column’s value, If the value is equal to true, do nothing, if no,do something you want such as send it to someone for approval.

Please let me know if your problem could be solved.

    Best regards,

    Mabel
