Unable to Select Certificate – Selector No Longer Works

Hi everyone,

We are facing an issue while trying to select a certificate using Power Automate. A year ago, we could successfully select the exact certificate we needed, but now the same process does not work anymore.

What we are trying to achieve:

We need to select a specific certificate from the list and extract its details. Previously, this was straightforward using the selector.

The Issue:

  • One year ago: The selector worked correctly, allowing us to choose the exact certificate we wanted.

  • Today: Using the same selector causes an error, and we can no longer reach the certificate we need.

Current Selector and Result:

Here is the selector we are currently using:

When tested, this selector returns an error instead of selecting the certificate.

Previous Selector (Working One):

This is the selector we used one year ago, which successfully selected the correct certificate:

Question:

Why does this happen? How can we select the certificate with the current setup?

Has anyone else encountered this issue? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi

Could you try to reupload your second picture since its not showing. Or paste the selector as text.

Sometimes UI element might change because the application (or website if doing browser automation) you are automating has had an update. So since the element has changed PAD flow fails since its trying to find an element that is not there anymore.

If you know that the application/website will have frequent updates you might want to make the selector for that element as simple as possible. So if the element changes only a little bit the selector will still match that element. But if there are lot of similar elements then of course you need to make it more precise.

So at this point you can't really do much else than recapture them. If the element looks visually always the same for the user interface you could try "Image as fallback" -functionality.

In the near future there might be a possibility to have Copilot repair/heal broken UI elements. But at least in my region this is not yet available. Here is Anders Jensens interesting video about it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XtcnmNQHOuE
