How we can remove special characters in between a string.

eg: Washington'() DC'! $

Need to remove these special characters at a single time using expression.

I'm getting error by trying to write like replace(outputs('Compose_6'),'[^a-zA-Z0-9]','')

If anybody, please post the reply asap.
