Power automate SharePoint get items

I am still confused about Power Automate SharePoint "Get Items" action even after researching on the internet . So specifically if I have the following action on a list with more than 5000 items.

Will it only filter on the first 5000 items and return those that match or will it filter all the items but only return up to the first 5000 items where there is a match. All the columns in the filter are text.

My intention is that all the items should be checked against the filter criteria and those that match will be returned. I don't expect there to be ever more than 1000 that meet the filter criteria.

    Hi @AgriMike ,

I believe sentences from below doc could explain to you:

In-depth analysis into 'Get items' and 'Get files' SharePoint actions for flows in Power Automate | Microsoft Learn

While using Get items on lists with more than 5000 items with a filter query, you may observe that no records are returned if there are no items matching the filter query in the first 5000 items. To fix this, enable Pagination on Get items from the action settings menu when working with lists with more than 5000 items.

This is one of the articles that confuses me. Within it it states

So if a query runs on the server is it also limited to the first 5000 rows?  I thought that the 5000 was the limit in the number of rows returned to Power Automate?

Does Power Automate do query delegation on SharePoint lists in the same way as Power Apps?

    Hi @AgriMike ,

No, delegation does not impact Power Automate. So, the action will get at most 5000 items from server then run filter query, and return the results based on number set in Top count. More specifically, for example, you have 10000 entries in a list, flow get 5000 items from server and apply query, top count set to 2000, if the result from query is 2500, flow gets 2000 entries. Activating Pagination in settings you will get 10000 entries.

    Best regards,
