Power automate to create calendar event in outlook from an ics attachment received

Hello everyone,

I'm attempting to automate the above and believe the trigger of 'when a new email arrives' is correct but I'm unsure on next steps for actions after that. The email received already has the booking date in the subject. I believe the remaining task is to instruct the system on how to check for date in subject line or ics attachment and then create the event. Time in this situation is irrelevant.

Don't know how to deal with the start/end time filds or Fx, Json syntaxis and my knowledge is very basic. Thanks for any assistance.

    Hi @JamesAlbert1 !

Quick question before diving too deep ^^, will the mail you receive always have the same format regarding the subject, therefore, can we easily retreive the date ?

If you need more info, I suggest you to check the documentation :

    Keep me posted 😉

    Hi Tristan,

Thank you for your prompt response. Indeed, the email always has the same format and comes through as confirmation of a desk booking I make in this other cloud-based system. In fact, I wish I could even automate the logging to these other systems and do the same clicks for me as it is repetitive and tedious task but guessing that would be more complex as it would require an API or something. Thanks in advance for your assistance, can share snippet of the text if useful. thanks, James

    Hi @JamesAlbert1 ,

Thanks for your feedback, I will need to see what output are you getting from your trigger.
Could you send me that ?
Could you also send the formula you used in the start and end time ?

    Thanks.

    Hi Tristan,

Thank you for your response and interest.

Thus far I feel confident about the trigger which is 'when an email' arrives and its configuration. Thereon the other steps need to be established but don't know how or whether ones in attachment are even the right options. I have attached image. Please do let me know what else I can provide you from my end.

    Many thanks for your assistance.

    Regards,

    James
