Edit Form from SharePoint library with multiple content types

Hi All,

I have a Document Library with multiple content types (Documents, Document Set, and Folder (with custom metadata)). I am trying to build a dynamic edit/new form to handle all the content types (need to hide and disable some fields depending on).

So when a user goes to create or edit a document set, of course the name field is required.   However, when I add the Name field to the form, no matter what I do, I can't make it Editable.  Even in the designer, when I say DisplayMode.Edit or New, the Name field remains read only.  Anyone else experience this...or is it by design?

TIA,

Troy
