Problem connecting to MySQL

Hi Everyone.

I am currently trying to create a scheduled cloud flow that gets data from a MySQL database and writes it to an excel spreadsheet.

I have a MySQL DB hosted on AWS and an On-Premise Gateway set up on an EC2 instance.

In Power Automate, I go to Connections > New connection > MySQL and insert all the details about the connection. When I press 'Create', it greys out the button and a message says 'Adding connection...' at the top. It remains this way for about 10 seconds and then the 'Create' button becomes clickable again, without any error message.

I know that my gateway works fine because I can access it on the Power BI service and my data refreshes as it should. The MySQL credentials that I am using work well everywhere else. I cannot figure out where the problem is coming from.

If you have any idea what is going on, please share.

Thank you

    Hi @LeDataGuy

Pretty please don't write everything in italics 😞 ouch my eyeballs.

Also I notice that you are using the Power Bi data gateway not the On-Premise data gateway. They separated them out, so you should look for that versus the power BI data gateway

    1. have you verified that the SQL port you are using is open on the Firewall on the AWS side?

    2. Can you look at the Logs of the Gateway and verify that the attempt was made and potentially why it failed?

    3. Can you try it in an incognito, cleared cache, browser instance please.

If I have helped you, I would really appreciate if you please Mark my answer as Resolved/Answered, and give it a thumbs up, so it can help others

    Cheers

I am using the On-premise gateway, what you are seeing in the screenshot is just the name of the Gateway because it was initially built for Power BI purposes only.

It turns out that I wrongly capitalized one letter of the Database name. And the gateway logs clearly show that as the error. Thank you @FLMike for pointing me in the right direction.

    Also, fixed the Italics 🙂
