Form Response Triggers Email - Dynamic Fields Not Saving

Hello -

I have a successful flow created and it was working without issue until recently. I did not change anything, so I am unsure why there is a sudden disconnect. I will do my best to describe this in a clear way...

Issue Explanation:

  • When a new response is submitted via Forms, it triggers an email to a set of individuals.
  • The email trigger works fine, but certain parts of the email body are not properly saving / displaying. Some of it is format, some of it is dynamic fields.
  • The body of the email is configured to capture the questions asked in the form, and the subsequent responses. Something like…

Question 1
Answer 1

Question 2
Answer 2

Question 3
Answer 3

  • The problem occurs when I am mapping out the body of the email, I will add all the dynamic fields in their proper place. When I finish and hit "Save," some of the Answers (dynamic fields) do not save and thus, do not appear in the email. It is ALWAYS the same few answers that do not save, so I am not sure if this is a problem stemming from Power Automate, or the Form question itself.

EXAMPLE:

Here is a screenshot of some of the sections before hitting SAVE

Here is a screenshot after hitting SAVE

Notice in the highlighted sections, the dynamic fields disappear, and in the sections that saved, the text turns into some kind of code.

I have tried starting from scratch and doing a test run on a different flow entirely with no success. It is the same questions every single time that do not save properly.

Any insight or troubleshooting suggestions are appreciated. If anything is unclear, please let me know and I will rephrase.

Thank you in advance!

Are you creating the flow in the New Designer? This is a common issue with the new designer. If you're using the new designer, I would switch back to the old designer and see if that makes a difference.

If not, have you checked the output from the ‘Get Response Details’ action? Is the data there?

@Hohle1 - thank you for the quick reply. I have previously tried both versions. For the sake of keeping my experience current, I tried again using the classic version (not New designer) and while the triggers successfully went through, the formatting is a mess and not displaying as they appear within Power Automate.

For example, I set the email body to look something like the following:

    QUESTION 1

    Answer 1 (dynamic field)

    QUESTION 2

    Answer 2 (dynamic field)

    QUESTION 3

    Answer 3 (dynamic field)

    ...so on and so forth

But when I receive the email, all space formatting is lost, and it looks something like this:

    QUESTION 1 Answer 1 QUESTION 2 Answer 2 QUESTION 3 Answer 3

The paragraph spacing does not save as I have configured it to in the classic version. I also notice there are not Text formatting options in the classic version - I usually like to bold the question and have the answer regular to create visual separation. Do I have to manually insert some code in order to have is display with proper paragraph spacing? I was hoping to avoid that.

Either way, the text formatting is not as big of a concern as the paragraph spacing. Right now, it is really tough to read and not even worth using Power Automate with how it is currently displaying.

I hope this makes sense but please let me know if not and I will rephrase.
