Does everyone need a premium license when calling "When an HTTP request is received” trigger from SPFX application through button action?

Hello Community!

I am currently using the “When an HTTP request is received” trigger and Microsoft Word Online action in a single Power Automate flow and the flow owner has assigned with Power Automate Per User license. This flow will be called from SPFX application (through button action) which is embedded in the SharePoint online site page. My question is, does all SharePoint logged-in users require premium license who actioned on the button?

    Hi @Anonymous ,

    Just flow owner/creator needs a per user license to make sure the flow could run on the premium trigger. However, since word online is premium connector as well, word templates and documents could only be found/created in the owner/creator's drive.

    You mean, All others except flow owner doesn't require premium licence?

    Example: X is the flow owner. Y and Z is normal users with basic licences. Can Y and Z can able to trigger that flow from SPFx screen?

    @Anonymous ,

    It's an automated flow with premium trigger and actions. So, anyone want to use that flow need to be owner of the flow, which also means they need a premium license. You can assign per user license to all the users or assign per flow license to this flow.

    Thank you for your response.

    I still in confusion on licensing part.

    To call an API(which generated by "When an HTTP request is received” trigger) from outside of organization, do everyone require Per User license? I believe the API can used in any technology framework such as Java or .Net anonymously without any identity.  so similarly, the API can be used in SPFX button action without any license. is my understanding correct?

    Hi @Anonymous ,

    Correct, anyone can use the API to call this flow without license. But it's your flow, so everything in this flow uses your account and license to perform actions. Users without licenses call API, then API calls this flow on your end.
