Hi All,

We are working on a form and looking forward to provide the ability to allow the users to upload attachments(any kind of file word, pdf, excel etc.). We are using PowerApps Plan 1 for the development.

Request you to please suggest what would be the best way to achive this fucntionality. We want to kind of create a mapping between the request(a unique identifier for the record) and the attachments tied to it.

Much Appreciated!

Thanks

    Hi @sumitmukund

you can create a Edit form and add Attachments datacard to it. Currently in powerapps, the only way to attach all kinds of file to the datasource is through Edit forms only. The Edit form needs to be added to a datasource, it could be CDS entity or Sharepoint list or any other data source. To initialize the form state, you need to use NewForm(FormName) and to save the details use, SubmitForm(Form1)

Hi @yashag2255 Thanks a lot for response. However curretly we are only able to upload attachments to SharePoints. We are using PowerApps Plan1 and we do not have CDS. We want to save any kind of attachment to our database(say SQL) and also retrieve the same.

Please let me know if this helps.

    Hi @sumitmukund ,

    1. Currently Attachments are only supported with SharePoint lists and Common Data Service entities.

    2. Upload and delete functionality work only inside a form. The Attachment control appears disabled when in Edit mode and not inside a form. To save file additions and deletions, the app user must save the form. Because of this limitation, the Attachment control isn't available from the Insert tab but appears in the form when the Attachment form field is enabled in a SharePoint or Common Data Service form.

If you want to be able to add Attachments to SQL, you might want to submit an idea in below forum:

    Regards,

    Mona
