I am getting the REST API is not supported with this mailbox.
Both accounts are using my work (school) email address. The OneDrive for business will link but any flow I try to initiate involving emails will not.

Yes sorry our work email has a dedicated mail server, it's not an office 365 outlook account. So at the moment this is not supported I have read.

Could you please show more details about the error message?
Do you have issue with the connection to Office 365 Outlook connector?
I have made a test on my side and don't have the issue that you mentioned. To use the Office 365 Outlook connector, you will need access to an O365 mailbox that has the REST API enabled. Please check if you have enabled the REST API for your Office 365 mailbox.
In addition, Accounts on a dedicated (on-premise) mail server or accounts that are sandbox (test) accounts may also see an error.
