Hello,

I am trying to update a "Date\time" field in SharePoint with the "Modified" field value.

e.g. "User task completed date" = "Modified"

I am trying to avoid the "Update Item" action in PowerAutomate since it will update other fields and reset the values... I just want to update one specific field..

so I am using the Send HTTP request to SharePoint, but it's not working, Please find attached screenshot.

can you please advise how to achieve that?

thank you!

    Sorry, 2 things

    1) show us the error

    2) What fields is it going to force you to "change" by using  update action?

the "Update Item" action used to reset some fields value automatically, e.g., if there is a field configured with a default value in SharePoint list, it will select that default value each time the item is updated, unless I select the current field value from the dynamic fields list.

I have 2 problems when using the Update Item:

    1. I have a SharePoint list with 250+ fields and it takes long time to load (~ 5-7 mins ) each time I need to use this action in the Power Automate flow.

    2. to update one column in the record, I have to set the fields value for 250 fields to the dynamic values in order to avoid loosing the current value\date in the fields.

I am trying to have a simple way to update one field only in a SharePoint list item.

I am using the HTTP request and it works perfectly fine, except if I want to update\set a "Date\time" field value using the HTTP request. which does not work with me now, there must be an expression to convert the date format before assigning it to the HTTP request which I am trying to find out.

Do you think it's possible to update Date\Time field using HTTP SharePoint request?

    thank you

    Hi

Please share the flow and the URI used in the Send an HTTP request to SharePoint action.

In the meantime, I've used the following to update a date column. Note the URI, and the date format for the date value.  I didn't need to use any headers.

Check the runtime output for any error messages:
