New Copilot Studio experience - MS365 Copilot and Teams - Channel About Info

We have imported a managed Solution into our Production Environment and all Objects successfully migrated, with the exception of the Channel 'About Info'. We find we can now update these About Info details, but they do not carry through into the App Manifest Download or the Submit to Org Catalogue. Unlike the Classic experience, there is also nowhere to update the Icon in the Channel Details, so only the default icon comes through in the Manifest and Org Catalogue workflow. HELP!

Hello @NK-20060140-0 - Although you have imported managed solution which normally don't require to publish the components to reflects the changes in target/prod environment. Somehow, in following documentation, its clearly mentioned that:
    • Once you import your solution you need to explicitly publish the agent before it can be shared
    • Also it can take upto 24 hours for your agent's icon to appear everywhere.

Hi @Mohsin Ali, yes the agent is published in the target Produciton Environment, by the Channel details are not coming through into either the Submit to Org Catalogue manifest or the downloadable Manifest ffile

The managed solution import is behaving as expected. The current Copilot Studio solution ALM process does not transfer all agent/channel publishing properties,

and Microsoft explicitly documents that imported agents can have missing channel details and icons.

Therefore, I recommend treating Teams/Microsoft 365 channel metadata as a post-deployment configuration step in Production. Configure the About information

and available branding through Channels → Teams and Microsoft 365 Copilot → Edit details, publish the agent, then generate a new .zip manifest and resubmit it

to the organization catalog if it was previously approved.

If the updated details are saved successfully in Production but do not appear in the newly generated manifest, I would consider that a potential current Copilot

Studio defect/limitation in manifest generation and raise it with Microsoft Support, supplying both the Production agent details and the generated

    .zip/manifest.json.

Hi @11manish, this is very helpful thanks. The Manifest has all of the correct expected attributes when exported from TEST Environment, but none carried across to PROD Environment. I can update the About Info, but there is nowhere to update the Icon in About Info. And even the updated About Info does not then appear in the downloaded Manifest. So yes it seems to be a system limitation and I'll submit a ticket to Microsoft Support. Is there a particular support line for Copilot Studio?

Hello @NK-20060140-0 - I'm not sure how long you have been waiting after the solution deployment or publishing. However, I would recommend adding this as a post-deployment manual configuration step and do the configuration manually.

Hi @Mohsin Ali, can you clarify what you mean by a post-deployment configuration step? Do you mean make these changes within MS365 Admin Centre somehow? I didn't know that was possible, but if it is that would be great!

Hello @NK-20060140-0 please refer below steps.

    • Open Copilot Studio in the target environment (PROD).
    • Open the imported agent and publish it.
    • Navigate to Channels and select Teams and Microsoft 365 Copilot.
    • Open the channel’s About info / details configuration.
    • Update the required information, such as the agent name, description, developer information, and icon, wherever those options are available in the new experience.
    • Save the changes and republish the agent.
    • Download the app manifest again or resubmit the agent to the Org Catalog.
    • Verify that the updated information is reflected in the generated package/catalog before making it available to users.
Since these channel-specific settings don’t appear to be carrying over as expected through the managed solution deployment, treating them as post-deployment configuration would be a practical approach until the behavior is addressed or supported through ALM.

Hi @Mohsin Ali, no, that does not work. You can change the details in About Info, but they are not retained in the Manifest. I think @11manish is right that this is a system defect that MS needs to resolve
