Approval Flow from SharePoint List

I am fairly new to Flow and am trying to create my first approval Flow. Within the SharePoint list, there is a field called Category. This field is a lookup field from a list that contains one or two people per category. Each category needs to be approved by the corresponding person in the lookup list (e.g. if Category 1 is selected then Person 1 needs to approve, etc).

Once the item has been approved it will then be forwarded on to another user, the manager (via email), who will then assign it to a member of the team. This 'Assigned To' field is also a lookup field from a list that contains the users names and email addresses. The person who it has been assigned to will then get an email to say that it has been assigned to them. The orginal user who created the item should also get an email to say that the item has been approved/rejected.

Is this fairly straightforward to set up? Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hi @Sam12,

This is not fairly straight forward to set up. In essence, your approval flow should be sequential, and it's easy to do this if you just go through multiple levels of approval. But the way you store your Email Address is the type of the lookup, so getting the value for the column in the SharePoint list is a little trickier.

The following operation is how to get the value of Category and send approval to the Email address contains in the Category:Annotation 2019-08-20 141148.png

"Once the item has been approved it will then be forwarded on to another user, the manager (via email), who will then assign it to a member of the team. "

After sending the approval to the manager you can use the same way to get the Email address store in the Assigned To.
