Hello,
As I'm still new to dynamics 365, I want to know whether dynamics integration with share point can be used in both direction to create a real time data? In the video I've watched about how to integrate share point and dynamics, I only saw that when they create new record in dynamics, it'll automatically updated in share point as well, but never seen one when we want to create new record from share point first.
My goal is: I want to create an app that can be updated real time in dynamics using share point list
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thank you!
Hi @Ezzyy798
Dynamics 365 uses Dataverse as a data source.
Then Dataverse by having an API you can do other processes to integrate with native Microsoft or third-party applications.
The issue is that you must evaluate what you want to do, because if it is to save records from a table you must use dataverse so that you can see them in real time, it does not make sense to use sharepoint as a data source.
Another thing is that you have a table, for example, in Business Central or in another ERP and you need to see them in Dynamics in real time. There you must evaluate an architecture to determine the best way to integrate. Whether the data will be persistent or not, how do I access the origin, etc.
I recommend Microsoft Learn as a learning tool https://learn.microsoft.com/
I'm actually a bit confused about connecting Dynamics with other Microsoft platforms with my currently-limited access and trying to figure out how to connect it without dataverse, but I don't think it would be possible if I want real-time data as the output. Still, your brief explanation explains a lot. Thank you!
Hi @Ezzyy798
The first thing is that you must define what it means with the box auto integration to create registration.
I'll explain a little, natively (you must configure a site, a library in Sharepoint) with a configuration you can integrate the Sharepoint library with Dynamics, obtaining from the SharePoint side folders associated with the tables that you define within the configuration, these folders you can upload attachments from Dynamics 365 to SharePoint and from SharePoint to Dynamics 365.
I leave you a video where I show you that you can load from both places
Another thing is when we talk about records, Dynamics 365 has its Dataverse database, it does not use SharePoint as a data source, you can configure virtual tables with SharePoint data sources but that is another different definition
