Send email to a string variable

I have created a string variable that is a concatenation of email addresses.  The string variable works in the "Assigned to" field of a "Start and wait for approval" action, but the same variable does not work in a Send Email action.  What am I doing wrong?

Could you not just use your SP 'DocEmail' field instead? I see/understand why you appended to string just thinking 'outside' the box for the send email portion as an option to try.

When I do that, it puts the the 'send and wait for approval' and 'send email actions in a "apply to each" loop since there can be multiple Doc Approvers.  There is a CC address in the email, and I didn't want the person that was CC'd to get multiple emails.  I think I will just create two separate emails, one for the single person and one for the group of approvers.

I presumed your 'Append to String' would not work because you said so and I see now my suggestion does add an 'Apply to each' however, my 'Append to String' does work with my sample data; I didn't have Group I could test with. Maybe you can provide some clarification on your situation?

    Interesting...

This is the error that I get:

I will delete and recreate the actions to see if there is a different cause.  Thank you for taking the time to check into this for me.

The deleted and recreated email worked.  After comparing the two versions of the "Send Email" action, I found that the Invalid Recipient was in the CC field.  I did not see this until until I clicked "show advanced options" in both email actions to compare them.   Embarrassing.   But thank you for verifying the the string variable worked in the email action, that led me to find the error.
