Granting SharePoint Folder Permissions To A Group

Hello,

I am trying to setup a Power Automate Flow that creates a sharepoint folder / group and then assigns that group specific permissions so they are the only group with access to that folder.

To accomplish this I have been using the "Send HTTP Request to Sharepoint" and have managed to create the folder and group but cannot find anything on how to provide permissions for a group to the specified folder.

It appears that I can either use the HTTP request to provide access to a list and only lists or the prebuilt "Grant Permissions.." action that only works for individuals.

Can anyone help?

Thank you,

Adam

    Hi there,

Check this out, "Set Permissions for Group" about half way down the page":

    https://www.c-sharpcorner.com/article/set-sharepoint-list-item-permission-using-ms-flow/

This gives you step by step on how to do it.

Thank you for your quick response! I did see that page in my initial struggles with this problem but couldnt figure out how to apply that logic to folders. To make sure Im looking in the right place, is this what you were referring to?1.PNG

    Yep!

The "Item ID" they refer to is the ID of the folder. To SharePoint, a folder is just another item. It has an ID against it.

Thank you for the clarification - I have attempted this again but it continues to error out saying the folder doesnt exist. Below is a screenshot from the current setup. All the folder variables are populated from my "Create New Folder" action. I tried adding a delay for the folder to be created but that didnt help either. Do you see what I did wrong?

Note: My created folder is in a new library/sub folder (All Docs/Custom Library/Folder/Newly Created Folder)
