Desktop Flow Errors When Copying Flow or Saving New Flow

Hello,

I have a desktop flow that opens and refreshes an excel file. It has been running without issue for a few months. I now have to create a few more of these flows to refresh other excel files, so I tried copying the current flow to do quick edits.

I keep getting this error:

An error occurred while communicating with the Microsoft cloud services. Try again and if the issue persists contact your administrator.

Correlation Id: a4c90312-6d7a-4ec6-b390-b0208da71428

As a work around, I tried creating a desktop flow from scratch and I get a similar error when trying to save:

An error occurred while communicating with the Microsoft cloud services. Try again and if the issue persists contact your administrator.

Correlation Id: f4905fda-9af0-4668-9ba7-4e46c10c43bb

Our administrators don't have a way to troubleshoot this error. Anyone have a fix?

thanks,

I have the same question (0)

    Hi @ptredrea ,

Could it be that some firewall settings have changed resulting in lack of communication with cloud services? I got some results from the correlationId and will take a look and get back to you 🙂

    Thanks

Mine is finally solved. What I tried was to close all other apps/programs that were opened at the same time. I didn't turn of firewall or any security apps though as according to our company that needs admin access, but I closed everything else. I don't know which app caused the conflict between it and the PAD, but when I tried again the error disappear. I hope this helps.

When my destop flow is simple, there is no problem with saving. However over the last few months, my flow has becomes more complex with numerous actions and subflows. And this has brought about the error in saving. The statistics is like out of every 10 savings, only about 2 will get through and save. The other 8 will take a long time trying to save and finally ended up in an error with some of us have mentioned in this forum. I have checked my internet connection as suggested by the troubleshooter and the connection is good.  I am using the free PAD version and read somewhere that it may be due to the limitation of the free version which I could not verify whether is true. Hopefully someone can throw some light on this issue and share how it can be overcomed. I like to use PAD but this issue has slow down my flow development very drastically.

This issue used to happen to me too. It just went away on its own so you just have to pray to Power Automate gods 😃

On a serious note, I log into Power Automate on a browser and it tends to help sometimes. And also, restarting the PC also helps in some of the cases.

Hi there, has this been resolved yet? - I see similar issue with my end when trying to save Workflows with too many subflows

As time goes on, I found out this is the internet connection issue, meaning your internet connection breaks (PAD can't use intranet). Another reason could be the Firewall restrictions.
