Hi everyone,

I am trying to update Modified By field by following below steps from the link below:

#FlowNinja hack 78 - modifying Modified By and Modified time with Microsoft Flow — John Liu .NET

However, I have issue when to send an HTTP request to Sharepoint action. Below is the screenshot:

The error details that I got is below:

I am not sure where is the issue. My sharepoint list title is correct, 'testupdatecountleave'. The item ID that I am testing is also correct ID = 5.

Not sure where is the error. Hope someone can help.

    Hi @nuraizatm,

    Can you share the configuration of your compose actions?

    I assume you have something like below:

    Hi @Expiscornovus,

    Actually, I did it differently. I added only one compose:

    Screenshot_20211109-183543_Flow.jpg

    so my output in the Send an HTTP function is as above. Not sure if I can do it like that. What I want to achieve is to have Power Automate as modified by when record item is update by power automate flow.

    Hi @nuraizatm,

    Thanks for sharing. In the Field value you are missing the key and the e-mail address of the user you want to use for the editor field.

    Can you try to use this value instead in your compose:

    [
    	{
    	 "FieldName": "Editor",
    	 "FieldValue": "[{'Key':'i:0#.f|membership|place_email_adress_here'}]"
    	}
    ]

    Thanks for your proposed solution @Expiscornovus

    What I am trying to achieve is to have "Power Automate" as modified by when record item is update by power automate flow. But at the same time, I dont have "Power Automate" user in my org and I dont have access to create one.

    Any other possible alternative to update the Modified by field?

    Hi @nuraizatm,

    Editor (aka Modified By) is a field of data type person or group. That is why it is expecting a value like a claim of a user. So, when you just input a string value it can't resolve a user and won't get updated.

    If possible, I would suggest you request a separate user account (service account) and let them set the displayname to "Power Automate" or "Power Automate service account".

    You could even use this in the connection of the SharePoint actions in your flow. This way it will automatically set the modified by to that account from the connection and you don't have to use this Send an HTTP request setup at all.

    @Expiscornovus

    I have updated my flow and added an email address within my org. But I still got resource not found error.

    Anyhow, how do I check if my URI is correct? Is it correct?
