How to visually expire approval email in Power Automate after timeout?

Hi Experts

I am using the "Start and wait for approval" action in Power Automate. I’ve set the timeout to 10 days (PT240H), and after that, the approval expires.

However, the approval email still allows users to click Approve/Reject even after the 10-day window, and they get a "Response sent successfully" message in Outlook, even though the response is ignored by the backend.

🔹 Is there any way to make the approval email visually expire (disable buttons or show a message like "This approval has expired")?

🔹 Or can I prevent the user from clicking Approve/Reject after the timeout?

If not, are there best practices or workarounds to inform users that the approval is no longer valid after the timeout?

I have the same question (0)

One way of achieving this would be to update the Approvals table in Dataverse - mark the approval as complete and set the reason to 'expired'.

Bezanca's suggestion about the approval table is the only real way to do this.  But just be aware that doing that does require a Premium license.
