Error: Action 'Check_group_membership_(V2)' failed

Error Message: 401 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials.

You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.

Background:

Using the Office 365 Users Connector with the Action Search for users (V2) I lookup the properties of a user.

I then take the User Principal Name property and using the Azure AD connector with Check group memberships (V2) action to check if that user is in the group.

For 1 user this sequence fails.

Expected: Flow returns an empty output for the check group membership action and continues.

Actual: Flow fails with error above.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

I wonder if the first time the user opens the Power App which calls the flow and they get prompted to authenticate against all of the connectors, if somehow the Azure AD connector credentials didn't get updated correctly? How would I look into that?

I suspect that one user doesn't have enough permissions for Azure AD.  The Azure AD connector requires the following permissions for the user running the connector.

To use the Azure AD connector, the account needs to have the following administrator permissions:

    • Group.ReadWrite.All
    • User.ReadWrite.All
    • Directory.ReadWrite.All
