Sharepoint Create FIle

Hi everyone,

So I am trying to create a Vacation approval process which, once approved would create a file in sharepoint library.

However, as I have already noticed on the forums here, the Create File option is more of a copy file actually and the File Content field is more of an object carrier than anything.

Is there a way to create like a word/pdf file from a list item?

I find it interesting that you can (partially) edit an Excel and not a word file.

Thanks

    Hi @Giostra,

You won't be able to create or edit a file (Word/PDF) using flow. You can copy, move or delete files using current Flow templates.

    Thanks

    Hi @Giostra,

Using Microsoft flow you can not create file in word/pdf format because ms flow is much limited by using that you can't.

I have another approch, we can  create word file using Sharepoint Designer Workflow.

Sharepoint provide option to create Word template which is use on time of file creation.

In Workflow you can check if vacation approved by approver then create file using sharepoint designer workflow. Its create file according to your template.

    Thanks,

    Hi @Giostra,

Based on what I know, currently there is no way to create a word/pdf file format, within Microsoft Flow.

For SharePoint Create File action, currently it is not available for this action to choose the file type when creating under Flow editing Window, which I think we could submit an idea on this topic.

For the list item, if you mean SharePoint List item, we could update an Excel file with the corresponding List columns under Flow, which needs the Excel file to pre-define the table and the related columns. Besides, there are some limitations regarding SharePoint list column type, not all types are supported currently.

Hope the information above is helpful.

    Regards
