Can't update data connection

My app is not working and it appears it is having issues connecting to the SQL Server database.

I checked the data connection and tried modifying the username/password, but received this error message:

"The caller with object id 'xxx' does not have permission to connection 'xxx' under Api 'shared_sql'."

However, I can re-create an identical connection from scratch and it saves successfully.

We have also ruled out gateway issues. The gateway is up and we have no problems connecting to this server via PowerBI, or connecting to the dev server via PowerApps.

I don't want to delete and re-create my existing connection because it connects to a couple dozen tables and flows.

This has been down for several hours now. However, this connection and app has been working for 9 months prior to today.

Basically the SQL Server connection is automatically shared when the App shareed to others.

Please take a try with the steps below:

1. Find the corresponding App which uses this connection,

2. Check the Share permission of this App, make sure your account is listed under the Shared users with permission level set to can Edit,

After that, check to see if the credentials could be updated.

If not, then you may need to rise a support ticket:

Hi Michael,
After being down for nearly a day, the issue resolved itself without any intervention from us. I'm worried because we have had this issue intermittently with PowerApps in the past (and not with any of our other applications that connect to that server/database). Is this a bug on Microsoft's side? Not sure how to best report/resolve this for the future.
