DLP Error 442 - When trying to trigger a Desktop Flow with a Cloud Flow

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to build a Cloud Flow that should trigger a Desktop Flow.

I’m working on a tenant where I have Power Platform Administrator rights.

I already checked and confirmed that no DLP policy in the environment should be blocking the Power Automate Desktop connector.
I also checked that my Machine, my Desktop Fow and my Cloud Flow are all in the same Environment.

Here’s what happens:

  • When I add the connector in my flow, I can successfully create a connection and connect.

  • In the “Desktop Flows” dropdown, I can also see all available Desktop Flows.

  • But as soon as I select one of the Desktop Flows, I get this error:
'The dynamic operation request to API 'uiflow' operation 'GetUIFlowMetadata' failed with status code '442'. This may indicate invalid input parameters. Error response: { "status": 442, "message": "Request blocked due to DLP policies for tenantId '[TenantID]', environmentId '[EnvID]' and 'uiflow'. Last refresh: 2025-08-08T19:26:08.7277472+00:00." }'

I appreciate every of your answers! :)

@stampcoin thanks for your reply and further questions.
It seems that the Problem solved itself.

I retried it today and no errors where thrown at me. :D
It might have been a synchronization issue of the DLPs or maybe the DLP Cache was buggy.

    But to Answer your Questions:
Have you checked the input data type matches the one defined for you desktop flow ?
The Flow i was using to test the behaviour was really simple an had no input paramters. It basically just launched Excel, wrote something in cell A1 and sacved and closed the worksheet.

Is that for all flows or just one flow?
Yesterday this behaviour was the same for all my flows. Regardles of complexity and if it required an input or not.

Do you have any DLP policies in the current environment ?
Yes I do have one DLP on my Environment, which had all the connectors in business (only for testing purposes of course). I also had checked, that all used connectors are placed in the same scope before testing.
