Forwarded emails showing UTC rather than original email time zone

Hi All,

When using the "Forward an email V2" Action in a flow we have noticed the email original received time is showing UTC and not the local time zone, causing some user confusions. Is there a way we can setup a parameter , or configuration in Power Automate to fix this?

Most solutions I have researched although suggest using the "Convert Time Zone" in a compose action , is not really clear how the forward email action can update this received time.

I would like to confirm if there is a workaround for this, or if  this implies to build a new email body

I really appreciate any advice or suggestion,

Regards,

Carlos.

    Hi @CBDEV

I am sorry I just want to make sure I understand.

When the person GETS the email it shows the wrong time?

Once you forward and it gets to them its going to use their local time (depending).

Can you share your flow please with your inputs etc, and show the time you are referring too just to be sure.

    Hi @CBDEV

I think you are reffering to use some logic using mail's received time - but it seems to be not clear. Please explain it clearly.

    Thanks & Regards,

Kindly apologize the delay. I am sharing here the workflow, email sent and email forwarded so you can notice the forwarded email is showing a different received time than the original:

This is the flow I have included a message in the forwarded email just o make sure the forwarded email is being sent from this workflow:

I sent an email to the Mailbox on which this workflow is waiting the email to arrive,, please notice that the received time in the email is Sunday June 22 at 7.45 PM:

Once the flow forwards this email to my Inbox , this how it looks, notice now that the received time from the forwarded email shows June 22, 11:44 PM

So this is my doubt , I am not sure if this is something I am missing to configure time correctly some place in Power Automate Configuration or the is something I need to review in the flow steps. Since the flow is just doing a forward why the time is being changed here?

Kindly let me know if you need more information and if you have any advice.

    Regards,

    Carlos.

    Hi @CBDEV

I am sticking with my first answer, which is its the users local time settings.

    Hi @CBDEV

Thank you for you advice, going through the troubleshooting for Outlook Web  settings I have noticed one setting on the Calendar Time Zone for the mailbox receiving the emails , showing that the Meeting time zone was set for (UTC-08:00) Pacific Time (US & Canada) which are exactly the 4 hours extra that are being added on the email received time. I have clicked in "Yes, update". But still the emails are being forwarded with the time issue.

All other settings suggested I checked are ok.

I guess I need to work with the administrator, since I am not very sure where this setting maybe configured in our environment besides de calendar time zone option.

I will come back once I check with the admin to update you, still if you have a suggestion it will be welcomed, thanks because this has pointed me in the right direction.

    Regards,

    Carlos.
