Drop down local values

Hi all,

 

I was wondering if it was possible to set the dropdown values in a choice column in Powerapps instead of Sharepoint.

 

The current method of the list looking up the SP values occasionally returns zero results and confuses the users.

 

Please let me know if this can be done and where/how the change can be made

    Option A:

    You can add a column in SharePoint as a Single line of Text instead of a lookup or Choice column.

    Then in Powerapps, change the control to 'Allowed Values'.

    Filter lookup values from a list in SharePoint to display non empty values etc.

     

    Benefits, 

    1. Avoid lookup column threshold
    2. Easy to manage
    3. Can create a collection of the list which contains the Choice values.

    Option B:

    in your dropdown control Items, or AllowedValues filed write this syntax

    ["Choice1","Choice2"]

     

    Can ellaborate,

    Any hint on where the AllowedValues field is? I'm looking though the datacards on my form and haven't been able to find it yet.

    See i have a single line of text control as an allowed values type.

     

    Gotcha: You need to convert it before you unlock the card. Otherwise, you won't get the option.allowedvalues2.PNG
